CM Mamata accepts demands of striking doctors, Kolkata commissioner to resign, new committee formed

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accepted their demands after a long discussion with junior doctors protesting against the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata. Also, the Director of Medical Education and Director of Health Services have been ordered to be removed. Apart from this, the demand to change Kolkata Commissioner has also been approved.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said, “Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Kumar Goyal has said in the meeting that he is ready to resign considering the demand of junior doctors. Vineet will hand over the charge to the new CP at 4 pm.
