Bills related to Waqf Board may be introduced in Parliament

Waqf Board Amendment Row: Major political parties in the Union Territory are not accepting the possible amendment to the Waqf Board Act in Jammu and Kashmir. Leaders of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, People’s Democratic Party and Awami National Conference have raised objections against this. The PDP leader says that this is a step taken against Muslims.

National Conference President and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has also reacted to the amendment in the Wakf Board Act. He said he did not know what reforms to make. First we should know about these reforms, then only we can talk about them. At the same time, the Awami National Conference said that any interference with Shariat would not be tolerated.

PDP leader Basharat Bukhari said that according to him this is not the right step. PDP leader Basharat Bukhari has clearly termed the move as an anti-Muslim move. He said that before any amendment the Cabinet discusses it. But there is no Muslim member in PM Modi’s cabinet, this move is not right.

‘A Muslim can bear every loss, but…’,

According to the Awami National Conference, the minorities in the country are currently feeling insecure especially under the BJP rule. He said that this amendment in the Wakf Board Act is a clear indication that this government will start claiming the lands of the minority community in the near future.

He said that ever since this government came to power it has been bringing such new laws using various pretexts and tactics to keep Muslims in chaos and fear. To do so is open interference in matters of Shari’ah. Although the government knows very well that a Muslim can bear every loss, it cannot tolerate any kind of interference in their Shariah.
