First eunuch gets government job in Jharkhand.
29 August 2024 will be memorable for the transgender community in Jharkhand. This day was very special because for the first time in the state of Jharkhand a transgender has been given a government job, although in the neighboring state of Bihar or in other states of the country transgenders have already got the opportunity of government jobs, but this is not the first time in Jharkhand.
On 29 August, while Chief Minister Hemant Soren was distributing appointment letters for reinstatement to the post of Community Health Officer during a function organized at the Jharkhand ministry, a transgender named Aamir Mahato was also given an appointment letter. For the first time in Jharkhand, a transgender has got a government job.
Appointed to which post?
Aamir Mahto, a resident of Manoharpur in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, is the first transgender from Jharkhand to be reinstated as a community health officer. Aamir Mahto, a transgender, said that his mother’s dream was for him to become a nurse, but the circumstances at home could have faced him with many problems. Amid hardships, she fulfilled her mother’s dream and today has been reinstated as a Community Health Officer.
The Chief Minister distributed appointment letters to 365 officers
Chief Minister Hemant Soren on August 29, 2024 gave appointment letters to 365 Community Health Officers in the Ministry of Jharkhand, who will work to provide health facilities to the people by strengthening the health system by organizing discussions at Community Health Centers in various districts. State Aamir Mahato stated that he served in AIIMS Patna, he left AIIMS Patna to stay with his family. After pursuing B.Sc Nursing from RIMS Hospital, Ranchi, she pursued MSc Nursing from Sambalpur Nursing College.
