Yes, the case has come to light from UP’s Sonbhadra district, where the in-charge of a buying and selling center is accused of missing 721 quintals of wheat. When the case of wheat embezzlement came to light, the district manager of the regional cooperative union lodged an FIR against the in-charge of the centre. Also, the police started an investigation in this matter.
A major scam came to light during wheat procurement between March 2024 to June 2024. 721 quintal wheat was not deposited in FCI. When the officials came to know about this, there was a commotion in the department. In fact, Santosh Kumar, in-charge of Robertsganj Mandi’s buying and selling cooperative, alleged that 911 quintals of wheat were procured from 11 farmers, but only 190 quintals of wheat were deposited. Remaining 721 quintals of wheat are not deposited and no one knows about this wheat.
An FIR was registered against the in-charge of the centre
Several letters were written by the department to deposit the wheat, but it has not been deposited yet. After much searching and brainstorming about the missing wheat, Balkeshav Patel, district manager of the regional cooperative, lodged an FIR against the in-charge of the center at the Robertsganj police station. Along with this, after the case has been registered, there has been a commotion in the department. Officials began to panic, fearing that the investigation would go further.

In this case, Additional Superintendent of Police Kalu Singh said that an application was given by District Manager PCU at Robertsganj Kotwali, which said that wheat was purchased from 11 farmers.
Wheat worth lakhs was embezzled
Wheat taken from 11 farmers was supposed to be deposited in FCI warehouse, but it was not deposited. The price of 721 quintal wheat purchased from farmers is 16 lakh 54 thousand 695 rupees. Police have registered a case and started investigation in this matter.
