Mamata Banerjee and Governor CV Anand Bose.

Amid protests across the state demanding justice in the rape-murder case of a woman doctor in Kolkata, West Bengal Governor Dr. CV Anand Bose has issued an order to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The Governor directed the Chief Minister to convene an immediate Cabinet meeting on Sunday to discuss the matter.

Along with this, Governor Bose has directed the state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to take a decision to remove Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal on the demand of the people.

Let us tell you that on August 9, a trainee doctor was allegedly raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The incident is being investigated first by the Kolkata Police and now by the CBI, but even after a month of the incident, no accused has been arrested except for the prime accused Sanjay Roy, while the entire state is demanding justice for Kolkata’s daughter as the protests continue.
