Punjab Minister Aman Arora
Punjab has topped the Grievance Redressal ranking among all the states and Union Territories in the country. The Punjab government has termed this achievement as a milestone. Regarding this achievement, Minister of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances Department Aman Arora said that this ranking has been done after a comparative assessment of all the states and Union Territories of the country. Punjab has been given this position based on the Grievance Redressal Index developed by the Government of India.
Punjab Minister Aman Arora said that states and Union Territories have been selected in this index mainly on two aspects – timely disposal of complaints and quality of disposal. He said that data for the period from January 1, 2024 to June 30, 2024 has been used for this index.
The government’s commitment paid off
Aman Arora attributed this achievement to the contribution of the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. He said that this achievement shows the commitment to resolve citizens’ problems in a timely and effective manner.
He said strict criteria were drawn up for this index, including percentage of complaints resolved within 30 days, percentage of complaints resolved and feedback from citizens. Punjab topped with a score of 62.27% out of over 20,000 complaints received from all states and union territories.
Immediate resolution of citizens’ problems
Emphasizing the dedicated spirit of the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for prompt redressal of all citizens’ problems, the Administrative Reforms Minister said strict monitoring of redressal of grievances at the highest level is being ensured. He said that any citizen can register his complaint through the government portal https://connect.punjab.gov.in or by calling toll-free number 1100 or visiting any service center.
