The release was postponed until 2022

Fawad Khan and Mahira’s film was slated to release in December 2022 in India. Zee Studios holds the distribution rights of ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’. But at that time the film was shelved due to controversy. At the time, a spokesperson for cinema chain Inox said, “The distributors have informed that the release of the film in India has been postponed indefinitely. “We have not been given a new date nor have we been told the reason for stopping the release.” At that time, Zee Studios was going to release the film in Delhi and Punjab. As soon as the release of the film was discussed, the MNS also opposed its release.

There was a controversy regarding this film

This film is releasing in India after a long time. But it is not that it was released easily in Pakistan. ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ was to be released in the year 2019 itself. The makers announced this in 2018 as well. As soon as the first look of the film was released, the film ran into trouble. In fact, in the year 1979, a film called ‘Maula Jatt’ was released. Its producer was Sarwar Bhatti Bilal. As soon as he saw the first look of the film, he went to court and filed a copyright case. The matter stalled. The case lasted for almost two years. In the end, by the time both sides agreed, the corona virus had knocked. The release of the film was postponed and will come in 2022.
