The Hindi film industry has used music and films from other languages in the name of remakes and remixes in Hindi films for many years. This experiment was also liked by the audience for a long time. If we look at the history of Hindi films, we will find many films which are remakes of old Hindi films. Or there are remakes of South films and remakes of other language films. Many such films have not only won the love of the audience but have also made good money at the Bollywood box office. Due to the success of these films, the trend of remixes in films as well as in music has been going on for a long time and the reason for this is our audience, the audience only cares about entertainment, where does this entertainment come from? ? how are you coming They don’t mind.

Seeing the success of Hindi remakes of South films in the last three-four years, South directors have entered the North market by releasing their films across India. Hindi versions of ‘Baahubali’, ‘KGF’ and ‘RRR’ received a lot of love from people. However, while the craze for South Hindi dubbed films is on the rise, the market for remake films has gone down a bit.

Akshay Kumar’s recently released film ‘Sarafira’ is the biggest example of this. The film was a remake of Tamil Superstar Suriya’s National Award winning film ‘Surrai Potru’. The film did not do well at the box office. After Akshay Kumar’s film flopped, now it seems that the era of remakes is about to end.

In fact, the main reason behind the demise of the film remake phase is the distrust of Bollywood people towards their original films and their blind faith in South films. However, let’s talk about this in detail now.

Bollywood flops based on South super hit films

Recently, there have been many such films which became superhits in the South, but flopped miserably when they were remade in Hindi. Like, the remake of ‘Vikram Ved’ South was made in Hindi and it was a flop. There are many such films which were super hits in South, but the same film flopped after being made in Hindi. Like Akshay Kumar’s Bachchan Pandey which is a remake of the Tamil film Jigar Thanda. It has been declared a super flop by the audience. Similarly, Sunil Shetty’s son Ahan Shetty’s film Tadap, a remake of the Telugu hit RX Hundred, has also been a complete flop.

Raj Kumar Rao starrer ‘Hit’ is a remake of South’s film ‘Hit The First Case’ which was a flop. ‘Nikamma’, the Hindi remake of South’s superhit film Middle Class Abbai, has turned out to be a superflop. Akshay Kumar’s ‘Lakshmi’, a remake of South’s superhit film ‘Mooni to Kanchana’, has turned out to be a flop. Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Jersey’ didn’t work either. Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol’s flop ‘Wale’ was a remake of South’s hit Brochevarvaruna. After Corona, there are many such films which were South remakes and proved to be failures in Bollywood. However, many other big Bollywood films which are remakes of South films are all set for release. Now only time will tell what will be the future of these films.

There are many other Bollywood films based on South films which were expected to do well. But those films also disappointed. Like ‘Gumnaam’, the remake of the Tamil film Thadham starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrinal Thakur was a flop. Ajay Devgn’s Bhola, a remake of the Tamil film Karthi, also did not fare well. Karthik Aaryan’s ‘Shahejaada’ is a remake of South film ‘Aala Vaikunthapuramlo’, Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Selfie’ is a remake of Malayalam film ‘Driving License’, Salman Khan’s ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ is a remake of Tamil film ‘Veeram’. All these films were failures.

People are liking original stories

On one hand films inspired by South and made at a cost of crores of rupees are flopping, on the other hand films with original stories that do not have a huge budget are being appreciated by the audience. Like Kiran Rao’s ‘Missing Ladies’, Vikrant Massey’s ’12th Fail’ and last year’s Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Goodbye’ were loved by the audience. Many films based on original scripts like ‘Kashmir Files’, ‘Gadar 2’, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyya 2’, ‘Jund’, ‘Mimi’, ‘Sooryavanshi’ were also enjoyed by the audience.

The main reason behind the failure of South’s remake films

However, there have been many such films in the past, which are remakes of South films and other regional languages, which were not only appreciated by the audience, but also proved to be memorable films of the time. But today South’s superhit films are being disliked by the audience. Super star films with a budget of crores are also flopping. One reason for this seems to be that earlier films, be it remakes of South films or in any other language, are seen by the audience for the first time. In those days, there was no OTT platform or social media, so all films were new to the audience. But today, thanks to many channels and OTT platforms, movies in any language can be watched with subtitles. In such a situation, in the last 2 years, the audience has become aware of the content and the audience is not ready to watch the movies which they have already seen as remakes in Hindi.

People want good content

If a remake is to be made, like Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drashyam’ and Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham’, it has to have something better than the original, which most Bollywood remakes do not. In such a situation, it would not be wrong to say that copying also requires intelligence. One of the reasons for the failure of remake films is that when Hindi remakes of South films are made, instead of doing something new, the makers put the same scenes in Hindi as shown in South films.

The remake is flopping

The only difference in the Hindi remake of South is that Bollywood actors are used in the remake and even then if Bollywood actors are compared to South actors, the actors here look inferior to the actors of the original film. is So, here in the name of films, the makers copy the films of South, but cannot add anything new of their own, due to which there is no innovation. Also, in the last 2 years, because of OTT platforms, viewers have seen so much new that their choice of movies has also increased, due to which many movies are facing failure.

The trend of remakes will end soon

One conclusion can be drawn from these things that in today’s time due to cut throat competition makers also have to be alert. In such a case, be it remake films or films based on the original story, the content should be so powerful that the audience gets completely immersed in the film and forgets to compare. Only then will the Bollywood film industry get a chance to see the period of success of its films. As far as the era of remakes is concerned, this era is going to end soon after the advent of OTT.
