Hindu organizations created an uproar

An incident of stone pelting during a religious event in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow on Tuesday night has come to light, in which an idol of Lord Ganesha was further broken. After this, tension spread in the area. Hindu organizations opposed this incident. After the commotion, the police reached the spot and detained some youths.

Last night, people created ruckus behind the old post office near Chinhat’s small mosque in Ganga Vihar Colony. Pradeep Chaurasia and his wife Kiran Chaurasia of the area told the police that on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on September 7, they installed an idol of Lord Ganesha in their house. The gate was open around 8 pm on Tuesday and he (Pradeep Chaurasia) was not at home at that time. In the house were wife Kiran Chaurasia, daughter Sandhya and younger brother’s daughter Mahi.

Stones were thrown at the house

Meanwhile 20-25 youths from a certain community reached outside the house shouting slogans and suddenly started pelting stones at the house. Kiran said that due to fear, he saved his life by locking himself and his daughter in a room. The husband called Pradeep Chaurasia and informed about the incident. Meanwhile, the accused escaped before Pradeep Chosia could reach him.

The victims said

The victim Pradeep and his wife Kiran say that due to this incident, the statue broke and the urn broke. Enraged by the incident, hundreds of people from the Hindu community closed the market, reached the police station and laid siege to the Chinhat police station to demand strict action against the people of the particular community. Slogans were raised during this. On receiving information about the incident, the police of two police stations including ACP, Additional DCP and DCP also reached the spot. According to Pradeep, the perpetrators of this incident are people from a particular community living near the house.

What did the DCP say?

According to DCP Shashank Singh, the victim’s family has registered an FIR in this incident. A case of disturbing religious programs has come up. Action will be taken soon. At present, police arrangements have been made at the scene. The situation is under control.
