In a major event in the politics of Rajasthan, the Cabinet Minister of the state, Dr. Kirodilal Meena has resigned from his post. Since the Lok Sabha elections, the opposition has been calling for his resignation, but his colleagues have been saying that he is not stepping down. However, Meena has now sent her resignation to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal.
Dr. Kirori Lal Meena is counted among the stalwart leaders of the Meena community of eastern Rajasthan. He was made the Agriculture Minister in the BJP’s Bhajanlal government formed in Rajasthan in December last year. However, during his campaign during the Lok Sabha elections, he promised that if the BJP lost even one of the seven seats under his charge, he would resign from his post.
Kirori Lal Meena made this claim during the election campaign on 17 May 2024, “When Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to Dausa on April 12 for election campaign roadshow, he entrusted me with the responsibility of all 7 seats here. If we lose even one of these 7 seats, I will resign as a cabinet minister.
