In a clash with police late on Wednesday night in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar, Rs. A criminal carrying a reward of 2.25 lakhs was killed. The slain gangster was a resident of Bihar. A joint team of Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar carried out the operation in Ratanpuri area of ​​Muzaffarnagar, police officials said.

Additional Director General of Police (Uttar Pradesh STF and Law and Order) Amitabh Yash said 16 cases including murder, robbery and extortion have been registered against Nilesh Rai, a resident of Bihar’s Begusarai district. He said, “In a joint operation late on June 5, Noida unit of Uttar Pradesh STF and Bihar STF had an encounter with the criminals in Ratanpuri police station area. In which Nilesh Rai, a notorious criminal from Bihar, was seriously injured, who was taken to hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The official said that Nilesh was a resident of Begusarai and the Bihar government had announced a reward of Rs 2.25 lakh on him. On 24 February, when a police team raided his hideout in Begusarai, Nilesh Rai along with his accomplices fired indiscriminately at the police team and escaped. ADGP Amitabh Yash further said that two associates of Nilesh fled from the spot in the encounter on Wednesday night. A police team is looking for them. Investigation is going on in this matter.

UP gangster on the run for seven years killed

Also on Tuesday, UP’s most wanted bounty hunter Prashant Singh was killed in an encounter with the police in Jaunpur. Late on Tuesday night, there was an encounter between police and notorious criminal Prashant Singh alias Prince. Prashant Singh opened fire on the police. After this the encounter started. More than 40 cases of murder and robbery have been registered against Prashant Singh. He was wanted for a long time. Police have also seized a weapon and a bike from the miscreant. Ashutosh Srivastava was murdered on May 13 in Shahganj Police Station area. Prashant Singh alias Prince and his accomplices were accused of the murder. Prashant Singh had committed many murders and robberies earlier. The police had been looking for him for more than seven years. A reward of one lakh rupees was also placed on the prince.
