Punjab Public Works and Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO today said that two toll plazas located on the state highway Patiala-Nabha-Malerkotla have been closed with immediate effect from August 5. In a press statement issued here, the Public Works Minister said that the collection of road user fee at Mohra toll plaza on Patiala-Nabha-Malerkotla and Kalyan has been stopped last night.

Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said that a total of Rs 87 lakh was being received from these two toll plazas every month. He said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has taken this step in the interest of the poor. The government has taken this decision to provide financial relief to the common people.

He said that closure of these two toll plazas has taken the total number of closed toll plazas across the state to 18, saving Rs 61.67 lakh per day to passengers traveling on this route. The cabinet minister said that stopping toll collection is an important step. This is an important step towards ensuring uninterrupted and smooth movement on these roads.

The Public Works Minister announced the construction of high level bridge over Sutlej River at Patiala-Samna Road, Ludhiana-Malerkotla-Sangrur Road, Balachaur-Gadshankar-Hoshiarpur-Dasuha Road, Kiratpur Sahib-Nangal-Una Road, Hoshiarpur-Tanda Road, Makku. , mentioned the daily relief to the common man by removing toll from state roads including Moga-Kotkapura Road, Ferozepur-Fazilka Road, Bhawanigad-Nabha-Govindgarh Road, Dakha-Raikot-Barnala Road and now Patiala-Nabha. -Malerkotla Road.
