Once again people from both the communities have gathered on the road for the Barawaft procession in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district. A heavy police presence has been deployed at the spot in view of the crowd from both sides. Police personnel are visible at every nook and corner, to prevent any untoward incident. Senior officials of the police and district administration are also present at the spot and are talking to people and asking them to go to their respective homes.

Late at night in Jogi Nawada of Baradari police station area, people of two communities clashed over the Baravaft procession. As soon as the police received information about this, the police team immediately reached the spot. Seeing the situation worsening, the matter was reported to the higher officials of the police and administration. As soon as the information was received, the police and administration officials reached the spot.

Once again the people of both communities face each other

After 12 hours of hard work, the police and administration officials managed to convince the people of both the communities. All were sent home on Monday morning. However, late in the evening again crowds of people from both communities started gathering. When the police and administration officials came to know about this, a large police force was immediately deployed. People from the Hindu party say that when our Kanwar Yatra was not allowed to pass through here, we will not allow the procession to pass through here under any circumstances.

The dispute between the two communities is very old

This is not a new case of dispute between two communities in Jogi Nawada under Baradari police station area. Earlier, when the Kanwar Yatra of the Hindu party used to pass through this route, there was a huge uproar. The Muslim side did not allow the Kanwar Yatra to pass through this route. Now when the procession of the Muslim party is passing through here, the people of the Hindu party have blocked the road and are saying that the procession cannot proceed from here.
