These 10 schemes of the Modi government changed the lives of the poor.

On 17 September 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the PM Vishwakarma Yojana on the occasion of his 73rd birthday, which aims to provide economic and technical assistance to traditional artisans and craftsmen. A provision of Rs 13,000 crore has been made under this scheme, which will be applicable till 2023-2028. The beneficiaries will get an interest-free loan of up to Rs 1 lakh and a concessional interest rate loan of up to Rs 2 lakh without collateral in two phases along with an identity card and a certificate. Apart from this scheme, many other schemes were also initiated under the leadership of the Prime Minister.

These plans changed the lives of the poor.

  1. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana: It aims to provide shelter to the poor and homeless people of the country. Under this, an assistance of Rs 1.3 lakh is given to people in rural areas and Rs 1.2 lakh to people in urban areas. So far, more than 4 crore people have benefited from this scheme.
  2. Jan Dhan Yojana: Under this scheme, the poor can open zero-balance bank accounts and withdraw up to Rs 10,000 through an overdraft facility. It aims to connect the poor class with the banking system.
  3. Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana: Under this scheme, small and marginal farmers receive an assistance of Rs 6,000 per year, which is directly deposited into their bank accounts in three instalments.
  4. Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana: Under this scheme, 80 million people received 5 kg of free food grains every month during the Corona epidemic. The scheme has been extended until December 2023.
  5. Ujjwala Scheme: Under this, BPL families get free gas connection and 12 subsidised cylinders. So far, 9.59 crore people have availed this.
  6. Ayushman Bharat Scheme: Through this scheme, poor citizens get the facility to get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. Ayushman cards are being made for eligible people.
  7. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana: An insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh is provided with an annual premium of just Rs 436. This plan is available for people in the age group of 18 to 55 years.
  8. Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana: People between 18 and 70 years of age can get accident insurance cover up to Rs 2 lakh with an annual premium of Rs 20.
  9. Atal Pension Yojana: People between the ages of 18 and 40 can invest in this scheme targeted at informal sector workers. After the age of 60, one can receive a maximum monthly pension of up to Rs 5,000.
