During police interrogation, the accused said that he used to prey especially on working girls.

Even on August 31, he went to Ahmedabad in the Vande Bharat train to meet a girl. Meanwhile, seeing the bag kept on the nearby seat, his intention was spoiled and he picked up the bag and left. Police identified the accused based on the reservation chart and tracked him by putting his mobile number on surveillance. Meanwhile, the location of the accused was found to be in Delhi. After this the police reached Delhi and arrested the accused. After the arrest of the accused, the police also informed the army. However, the army clarified that the accused was not a major but a soldier dismissed from the army.
