Aggrieved family

In Uttar Pradesh’s Etawa, a farmer family in debt to moneylenders has attempted suicide. The family drank sulfa tablets mixed with cold drinks. A farmer along with an innocent girl died in the attempt, while his widowed sister-in-law is under treatment in a hospital in a critical condition. It is being said that the family owed around Rs 3 lakh and moneylenders were pressuring them to pay.

The entire case is from Bhadei village in Etawah, where Dayashankar, who lives here, consumed poison along with his widow sister-in-law Pooja and their 13-month-old daughter Shiva. At the time the farmer took this step, the farmer’s mother had gone to the village with her two grandsons. When the mother returned, she found her young son, daughter-in-law and the innocent girl in the courtyard of the house. The mother raised the alarm after which the villagers admitted everyone to the hospital. The farmer and the innocent child are dead while his sister-in-law is in critical condition.

Allegations against neighbors

Dayashankar’s mother Saroj Devi said that his neighbors were constantly pressuring him to give him money. Because of this, his son was under stress. Neighbors named Upendra, Jitendra and Rinku are accused of harassing them for money. Saroj Devi said that these three run a liquor shop in the village. He first gave liquor to Dayashankar on loan and kept increasing the loan. After this the loan amount continued to increase.

How to raise children

Saroj Devi said that she had also sold 1 bigha of land last year to pay the expenses. They also took his money but even that did not satisfy the lenders. A few days later, they again started pressuring him to repay the loan. For this reason his son has taken this step. Saroj Devi said that her entire family was destroyed because of moneylenders. Saroj Devi said that her husband is disabled and now she has two small children left at home. How will they be supported now?
