A major tragedy has occurred in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad after an explosion in a firecrackers warehouse. Nowshera village in Shikohabad area of ​​the district was resounded by the blast. More than 10 houses in the area collapsed due to the massive blast that occurred around 10 pm. Suddenly the lanterns of many houses burst like biscuits. The walls fell. Within moments the houses were reduced to ruins. A team of police, fire brigade and SDRF reached the spot. According to the fire brigade officer, 12 people buried under the debris of the collapsed houses have been rescued. 4 people died in the accident. The injured are being treated.

The village of Nowshera slowly fell into slumber on Monday night. Some people were already asleep and some were lying on the bed preparing to sleep. Suddenly everyone in the village was woken up by a loud explosion. The explosion was so loud and terrifying that its sound echoed throughout the village. People left their beds and came out of the house. The place where the accident happened was horrible. The surrounding houses were scattered like a deck of cards.

There is a firecracker warehouse of Bhure Khan of Shikohabad in the village. For Diwali, crackers were being made from explosive materials in the warehouse. A large number of prepared firecrackers and explosive materials were kept in the warehouse. There was a huge explosion in the warehouse at around 10 pm on Monday night. According to eyewitnesses, the blast was so powerful that three nearby buildings, including a warehouse, collapsed. One by one the walls of the houses collapsed. The lantern split into two parts. A family was buried under the debris of the collapsed building. The walls of several houses were cracked in the accident. The entire village rushed to the spot. A large number of people reached the spot.

Four people died, including three-year-old Masoom

Police were informed. Fire brigade and police team reached the spot. SDRF team was called for rescue. People buried under the debris have been pulled out. Seven people of the same family were rescued and taken to the government hospital for treatment. 12 people were pulled out of the rubble. Four people including a 3-year-old innocent girl died in this accident. JCB machines were deployed to remove the debris. Agra Range IG Deepak Kumar, Firozabad DM and SSP reached the spot in the night after getting the information about the incident.

According to the police, Chandrapal’s house in Nowshera village was vacant. The house was rented by a firecracker seller. Firecrackers were bursting in the house. Gunpowder was also stored. Firecrackers suddenly caught fire around 10 pm on Monday. After this there was an explosion. The explosion was so powerful that the walls of three nearby houses collapsed. Cracks are visible in the walls of other houses. Pankaj (24), Meera Devi (52), Sanjana, Deepak and Rakesh and one other were injured in the accident. All were taken to United Hospital. Where Meera Devi, Pankaj and another died during treatment. A total of eight people have been hospitalized. The search is on for others buried under the debris.

DM calmed down the angry people

The accident caused grief and outrage in the village. People got angry and started rioting. The Firozabad DM pacified the angry people. First CO Praveen Kumar Tiwari, Inspector Pradeep Kumar reached the spot. After a while DM Ramesh Ranjan and SSP Saurabh Dixit also arrived. The DM made an announcement through the mic to calm the public and appealed to them to cooperate in the rescue operation. With the help of heavy machines like JCB and Hydra, debris removal was carried out at the site.

He says that 10 people have been rescued so far. In which four people have died. The IG said that no one can be given a license to burst firecrackers in such a densely populated area. It is possible that the Magistrate may have obtained a warehouse license for storing firecrackers elsewhere. A thorough investigation will be conducted and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
