MLA Zahid Baig, who is close to SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav in UP’s Bhadohi, is facing increasing troubles. The Labor Department had registered a case against Zahid Baig for forcing a minor maid to do child labour, now the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the police has registered an FIR in a case of abetment to suicide. After these two cases were filed against the MLA, now the sword of arrest is hanging over him. As soon as a case was registered under the arrest clauses, the SP MLA became indecisive with his wife.
A few days ago, a minor girl who worked on the top floor of SP MLA Zahid Baig’s residence in Bhadohi committed suicide by hanging. The police reached the spot, took possession of the body and sent it for postmortem without any fanfare. Superintendent of Police Dr. who arrived to investigate on Monday evening. Meenakshi Katyayan found another minor girl there and identified herself as a maid who had been working at the SP MLA’s house for years.
On Tuesday evening, Lady Magistrate, Lady Police and Labor Department and Child Welfare Committee conducted a raid and freed the minor girl from the MLA’s residence. On the same day, her statement was recorded by midnight and she was sent to the One Stop Center under the supervision of women police. Seeing the negligence at the local level, the SP instructed the local policemen to take legal action. After which another FIR has been registered.
Minor committed suicide after torture
Superintendent Dr. Meenakshi Katyayan said that the minor girl committed suicide after being harassed by the SP MLA and his wife. In this case, SP MLA Zahid Baig and his wife Seema Baig were booked under Sections 143(4), 143(5), Section 79 of the Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Sections 4 and 16 of the Bonded Labor System Abolition Act. , 1976. Is. Dr. Meenakshi Katyayan said that the joint team that raided SP MLA Zahid Baig’s house included a team of AHTU (Anti-Human Trafficking Unit).

AHTU itself has filed another case. The SP said that after investigating all the above aspects and questioning many people, the facts that have emerged are proving that the girl child was being exploited. This is a legal offence. On behalf of the police, a case has been registered against SP MLA Zahid Baig and his wife Seema Baig under Section 108 of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) 2023, on the complaint of the Sub-Inspector of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit. The charges are serious and immediate arrest will be ensured.
