Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
A statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was installed in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra on the occasion of Navy Day on 4 December 2023. This statue was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said that the statue was built by the Navy and it collapsed due to the wind. He has also said that the new statue will be installed as soon as possible. After the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj collapsed, the opposition has criticized the Shinde government, alleging the quality of work and haste in unveiling the statue. The statue was installed in the fort of Rajkot in Malvan, Sindhudurg district. However, the reason for the collapse of this statue is not yet clear.
