Speeding wreaks havoc in Delhi, car runs over 2 laborers sleeping on footpath; death of one

A heartbreaking case has come to light from Delhi. Here, two people sleeping on the footpath were crushed by an oncoming car. Due to which one person died. The case is from the Geeta Colony area of ​​Shahdara in the national capital. A speeding car hit two laborers sleeping on the footpath here, killing a 40-year-old man.

The incident took place on Pusta Road in Gandhi Nagar in the morning when the police team reached the spot and found a car lying on the footpath. On reaching there, the police learned that 40-year-old Sonu and 38-year-old Mohammad Islam were injured in the accident and were taken to SDN Hospital, but Sonu died.

The victim was living by working as a laborer.

According to information, Sonu and Islam, who earn their livelihood by doing labour, were sleeping on the footpath at the time of the accident. Sonu, a resident of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, died during treatment, while Islam was being treated, a police official said. He said the car driver, 38-year-old Rahul Kumar, a resident of Shastri Nagar, was detained from the spot and later arrested.

The police officer giving the information said that a case has been registered against the accused Rahul under section 281 and 125 (A) of the Indian Penal Code. Police said they received information on their PCR call that a speeding vehicle had run over two people who were sleeping on the footpath. When the police vehicle reached there, it found a vehicle mounted on the divider. The condition of the car was very bad. The injured were taken to hospital where one died.
