Punjab Government Energy Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO today handed over appointment letters to 17 new Assistant Engineers in Power Corporation Limited. Welcoming the new engineers, the Energy Minister congratulated them. The Minister inspired them to discharge their duties with dedication, hard work and honesty. The Energy Minister said, these young engineers will make full use of their skills and serve the citizens of the state honestly.

The Power Minister said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is continuously taking initiatives to provide employment to the youth. He said that PSPCL has issued appointment letters to a total of 3,097 candidates through direct recruitment. Including today’s 17 newly appointed Assistant Engineers. He said that apart from this 782 jobs have been given in Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited.

The Power Minister further informed that since April 1, 2022, 1,215 posts have been provided on compassionate basis, including 272 Group C and 943 Group D vacancies. He said that thus far 5,094 candidates have been recruited in PSPCL and PSTCL.

The Power Minister also announced that PSPCL has issued an advertisement for direct recruitment of 3,888 posts and this recruitment process will be completed soon. He said that 100 posts of Assistant Engineer (Electrical) will be filled in October this year. Electricity Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said that the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to fulfilling its promises. He said that the promise of providing free electricity to people in the state has been fulfilled with the provision of 300 units of free electricity every month from July 1, 2022. He said that apart from this, the Punjab government is committed to increase employment opportunities for qualified persons and select candidates based on merit.
