During an interview, Sooraj Barjatya shared an incident during the shooting of the film and said that Saif had to take medicines from Amrita during those days.
Saif Ali Khan was awake all night
The director recently revealed that he was shooting for the film’s song ‘Sunoji Dulhan’. At that time Saif Ali Khan had to do many retakes. The director then thought that Saif is a natural actor and since this is a comedy, he should do it in one go. Suraj again spoke to Saif’s first wife Amrita regarding this matter. Amrita tells her that Saif stayed up all night thinking about how he would play certain characters and his lines.
Had to take sleeping pills before shooting
Hearing this, Suraj gave Amrita medicine and asked her to sleep. After which one day he secretly gave Saif sleeping medicine and he fell asleep. When he came to the set the next day, the shot was fixed in one take. Saif was surprised to see this and asked how this was done in one take. Sooraj told him that if he is a natural actor, if he sleeps properly it will happen.
Saif was feeling the pressure in front of big stars
Sooraj Barjatya also told in the same interview that Saif Ali Khan used to be nervous in those days and for the first time he had such a big role and that too in front of big actors. So he was under a lot of pressure and worked very hard. Often used to memorize dialogues. However, Saif’s work in this film was much appreciated. This film did a business of 80 crore rupees 25 years ago.
