For the first time after the abrogation of Article 370, voting for the assembly elections is going on in Jammu and Kashmir from Wednesday i.e. this morning. The first phase of polling is underway amid tight security in 24 assembly seats spread across seven districts of the state. Ahead of the first phase of polling, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that everyone should decide their participation in this important election and remember who made Jammu and Kashmir what it is today.

The Congress president on Wednesday urged the voters of Jammu and Kashmir to remember who was responsible for transforming the state into a union territory. Kharge said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will vote to protect their rights, for the development of Jammu and Kashmir and to regain full statehood.

For the first time the status of the state decreased

In a post on Twitter, Kharge said, “As the first phase of voting begins in 24 assembly constituencies, I urge everyone to exercise their democratic right and vote in large numbers. The Congress president said that every vote has the power to decide the future and usher in an era of peace, stability, justice and progress.

He said, I appeal to everyone, especially first-time voters to participate in this important election and be a catalyst for change. This is the first time a state has been downgraded to a union territory, when you cast your vote, remember who is responsible for this, Kharge said, adding that let us unite and make Jammu and Kashmir a brighter future. Where the voice of all citizens is heard.

The first phase of voting is underway

In the first phase of elections, the people of seven districts of Jammu and Kashmir on both sides of the Pir Panjal mountain are voting to elect their representatives. More than 23 lakh voters will decide the fate of 219 candidates, including 90 independent candidates.
