Junior doctors are on strike after the Kolkata rape case and are protesting demanding security for doctors in government hospitals. Following the demand of junior doctors, the State Secretariat Naba has taken several steps regarding the medical infrastructure of hospitals and the security of doctors and medical staff. Panic buttons will be installed in every hospital and health center to ensure the safety of doctors and health workers.

The state government is all set to ensure that there is no slack in the security of doctors and health workers. A helpline number has been asked to be set up at the central level. Every hospital and health center has been instructed to start this helpline number at the earliest. Chief Secretary Manoj Pant has sent a letter to State Health Secretary Narayan Swarup Nigam regarding this.
