BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections (BJP) has not been as successful as expected. Therefore, they are from the NDA (NDA) Government will have to be formed with allies. Modi had given the slogan of crossing 400 to NDA this year. However, BJP got only 240 seats and NDA got 292 seats. BJP remained far from the majority figure in the 543-seat Lok Sabha. If the NDA alliance gets a majority, then the name of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is also important among the parties playing an important role in it. TDP has emerged as the second largest party after BJP in the ruling NDA. He is currently playing the role of ‘kingmaker’. He got 16 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Then JDU (J.D.U), which got 12 seats.

will depend on both sides

If we look at the seat equation, then to form the NDA government, BJP will have to depend on both TDP and JDU. But now the question is whether Chandrababu Naidu can be trusted? A look at history shows that Naidu has betrayed before. Therefore, it does not seem that BJP has full trust in him.

Chandrababu Naidu ( chandrababu naidu ) is also rumored to have received an offer from India Alliance. However, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has announced that we are in NDA and I am going to Delhi for a meeting. BJP must have breathed a sigh of relief with Chandrababu Naidu’s announcement.

Chandrababu Naidu broke ties with NDA in March 2018 over the demand of special status for Andhra Pradesh. But his decision had a big impact in the 2019 assembly and Lok Sabha elections. He suffered a bad defeat in both the elections.

Chandrababu Naidu rejoined the NDA after six years. In Andhra Pradesh, it contested the assembly elections in alliance with the BJP and Jana Sena. In the alliance, out of the total 175 assembly seats in the state, TDP contested 144 seats, Jana Sena 21 seats and BJP 10 seats. Despite being in alliance with the BJP in the state, Naidu took a different stand on the issue of Muslim reservation and advocated Muslim reservation. He openly said, “We have been supporting four percent reservation for Muslims from the beginning and will continue to do so.” But the TDP has distanced itself from this issue in its manifesto.

Appreciation of PM Modi but…

After returning to NDA, Chandrababu Naidu was seen praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Naidu had opposed Modi after the Gujarat riots in 2002. Naidu also holds many records as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He has been the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the longest time. He has been the Chief Minister for 13 years and 247 days. Apart from this, he is the only leader of Andhra Pradesh who took charge of the state after the formation of Telangana after separation from Andhra.

All eyes are on Naidu’s next move

Chandrababu Naidu also has a lot of influence in national politics. He led the United Front in the 1996 and 1998 Lok Sabha elections. He was the convenor of the United Alliance before supporting the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government in 1998. When Chandrababu Naidu joined the NDA, he was also its convenor. His political journey started in the 1970s. He was also in the Youth Congress. Later he joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), a regional party of Andhra Pradesh. Now in the new political situation, he has emerged as a kingmaker in the NDA government at the Center. It will be interesting to see what his next step will be.
