A 14-year-old minor girl in Bihar’s Aurangabad fell in love with a boy from another caste. She wanted to marry him. When the family opposed this, the girl decided to get married herself. He angrily told his family – I will be his bride. We are getting married. The girl’s family did not like this and the grandparents and two uncles killed the girl. On Friday, the girl’s body was recovered from a lake in Putharwa village under Nabinagar police station area.
After this, Superintendent of Police Swapan Gautam Meshram formed an SIT headed by Sub Divisional Police Officer Sanjay Kumar Pandey and ordered to probe the matter. The girl’s grandmother Bhagamanya Devi filed a case under Sections 103 (1), 238 and 3 (5) of the Indian Penal Code against Vivek Chauhan, a resident of Shivsagar, his brother Ashok Chauhan and their aunt Urmila Devi, a resident of Putharwa. Apart from this, a case was also registered under POCSO and SC/ST Act in this matter.
The main accused in this case, Vivek Chauhan, was arrested and sent to jail. But on the basis of scientific evidence and the behavior of the girl’s family, the SIT got suspicious and started an in-depth investigation into the matter.
