The police take out the body

A moneylender was brutally murdered and buried on the banks of the Chambal River in Etawa, Uttar Pradesh. When the matter came to light, a sensation spread throughout the area. The deceased has been identified as Arvind Gurjar, son of Sonveer Singh. Arvind was a resident of Pratappura under Sahaso police station. His age is said to be 55 years. Arvind’s body was wrapped in salt and buried about 6 feet below the banks of the Chambal river. The body was recovered from a pit on the bank of Chambal river near Samashon village on the request of accused Prem Singh.

How did it manifest?

The family of the deceased informed the police about the accused, after which the police questioned the accused Prem Singh on suspicion. The accused told the police the entire story of the murder. However, the accused has categorically refused to divulge the names of others to the police.

According to the local people and the family, the murder was done for money. Based on what the accused said, the police are looking for many big people. Forensic investigations have also revealed several fingerprints. It is believed that many people were involved in the murder.

In what condition was the body found?

The police found the body in mutilated condition. The legs of the deceased were tied with thick rope and hands with wire. He was attacked several times with an ax on his neck and chest. The left thigh was also badly damaged by the ax attack. The body was buried one and a half meters below the ground. After a lot of effort, the police pulled out the body from the pit with the help of the villagers. The police sent the body for post-mortem after making a panchnama.

What did the accused say?

In this case, the police arrested the accused with the help of CCTV footage. When arrested by the police, the accused said that he had committed the murder along with two friends. He also said that ‘they (the other two accused friends) will destroy my family, so I will not be able to say anything about them.’

What do the villagers say?

According to the villagers, many other people are also involved in this murder. It is also being claimed that two days prior to the incident, the deceased was badly beaten up by the history sheeter over a money transaction. In this whole case, the needle of suspicion revolves around a family, which was a partner in money transactions and land. The deceased’s brother Ravindra Gurjar and his brother-in-law Shivendra Gurjar, a resident of Imalia, have also expressed suspicion on the same family.

There is a lot of anger among the people of Gurjar community after this murder. All the people of Gurjar community have demanded an impartial investigation from the senior police officers and action against the culprits. Now the police are trying to get to the bottom of the whole matter.
