JK Assembly Elections: BJP Collusion With Independent Candidates, Omar Abdullah Makes Big Claim On Shah’s Statement

Jammu Kashmir Assembly Election 2024: Jammu-Kashmir National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah has made a big claim about BJP on Saturday. He claims that the BJP has reached an agreement with regional parties and some independent candidates to be part of the government in Jammu and Kashmir. He has also attacked referring to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks in Jammu.

The National Conference leader said that Amit Shah had kept silent about his party and the People’s Conference in his speech while releasing the BJP manifesto on Friday. He said, ‘… who has signed an agreement with Delhi. They will not meet your demands. If you want proof of this, look at Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement in Jammu yesterday.

‘BJP in collusion with independent candidates’

Omar Abdullah said, ‘The Home Minister mentioned the parties with which the BJP will not form the government. However, he remained silent as he was associated with independent candidates. He remained silent about his party and the People’s Conference. Addressing an election rally in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal assembly constituency, Omar Abdullah said this on the BJP.

“I thought he would at least name Engineer Rashid’s party (Awami Ittehad Party), but he didn’t,” he said. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while releasing the party’s manifesto in Jammu on Friday, expressed his confidence to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), National Conference and Congress will not form a government which runs on dynasticism. BJP will explore the remaining possibilities.

Voting for 24 seats will be held in the first phase on September 18

Elections will be held in three phases for a total of 90 assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir. In the first phase, a total of 24 seats will go to polls on September 18, while in the second and third phases, 26 seats will go to polls on September 25 and 40 seats on October 1. The results of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections will be declared on October 8 after the counting of votes.
