CM Naib Singh Saini and Khattar met JJP MLAs
Naib Singh Saini’s government in Haryana seems to be in crisis, due to which the political upheaval in the state continues to increase. However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is making all possible efforts to come out of this crisis. Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar met two Janayak Janata Party (JJP) MLAs in Chandigarh, after which the political heat has escalated. In fact, the BJP government in the state is in minority and needs three MLAs.
CM Saini and Manohar Lal Khattar met Jogiram Sihag and Ramniwas Surjakheda and discussed the future strategy. BJP is trying to woo some JJP MLAs to overcome this political crisis. It is being said that both the MLAs may support the BJP, though the numbers do not seem to reach a majority.
Good news for the party came on June 5 when CM Naib Singh won the by-election to the Karnal seat. However, there were continuous claims from the opposition that Naib Singh’s defeat in this seat was certain. CM Saini won from the Karnal seat giving a jaw-dropping answer to all the claims of the opposition. Despite this victory, the party still has 41 MLAs.
Haryana Legislative Assembly Numbers Game
If we talk about majority figures, BJP has 41 MLAs and is supported by Haryana Lokhit Party MLA Gopal Kanda. In such a situation, the number of MLAs has increased to 42. The party needs 45 MLAs to get a majority, for which it currently needs at least 3 MLAs. Haryana has 90 assembly seats, but currently the number of sitting members is 88 as one MLA resigned and one MLA died.
