MVA CM Face Row: There is intense political activity in Maharashtra over the proposed assembly elections later this year. The ruling Mahayuti coalition is trying to stay in government, while the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi is waiting to return to power. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said that if Rahul Gandhi had been made the PM candidate in the Lok Sabha elections, the results would have been different.

A Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP said this in a press conference. Meanwhile, Raut attacked the central government over one country, one election. He said that you cannot hold assembly elections in four states simultaneously and talk about one election for one country. At the same time, in the meantime, he also reacted to the face of the post of chief minister in the assembly elections to be held in Maharashtra.

Clarification given on Uddhav Thackeray’s statement regarding CM face

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that it would have been beneficial in the general elections if Rahul Gandhi had been declared the prime ministerial candidate by the India Alliance. He said that making the Congress leader the PM’s face would have given the India Alliance 30 additional seats. His reference was to reveal the Chief Minister’s face before the assembly elections in Maharashtra.

He said that all the three MVA parties (Shiv Sena, NCP-SCP, Congress) will contest the election together in Maharashtra. Sanjay Raut also clarified on party chief Uddhav Thackeray’s statement about CM face. He said that Uddhav Thackeray says whoever will be made the chief ministerial candidate, we will support him.

Sanjay Raut said that sometimes if a face is revealed, people’s opinion changes. Had Rahul Gandhi been announced as the PM candidate earlier, our 25 to 30 positions would have made a bigger difference.

First announce the CM candidate- Uddhav

Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray on Friday requested MVA allies to first announce the CM candidate and then start campaigning. He appealed to the alliance leaders to announce the CM face, Shiv Sena would support him unconditionally. Earlier, during a meeting with the top leadership of the Congress in Delhi, Uddhav Thackeray presented his claim for the CM face. He said that he is ready to take this responsibility.
