If you also use Paytm for UPI payments or mobile recharges, you may find this news useful. Actually, users using Paytm UPI will now have to change their @Paytm UPI handle. Users have also started receiving messages about it. Paytm Payments Bank is now providing UPI service to its customers through partner banks.

Post approval, Paytm quickly integrated with Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, State Bank of India (SBI) and Yes Bank. In such a situation, if you are also receiving messages to change your @paytm handle, let us tell you how you can change it.

The UPI of these banks will be activated.

In March, NPCI also approved OCL to operate as a third-party application provider (TPAP) under the multi-bank model. This means Paytm can now provide UPI services through partner banks. Post NPCI approval, Paytm has integrated with Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, SBI and YES Bank.

This way the existing UPI identifier with @Paytm will be changed to the new identifier. These new handles include SBI's UPI handle @ptsbi, HDFC Bank's UPI handle @pthdfc, Axis Bank's UPI handle @ptaxis and Yes Bank's UPI handle @ptyes.

Users began to receive alert messages.

The company has started migrating users with @Paytm UPI IDs to these new banks to ensure uninterrupted UPI payments. All four banks operate with TPAP. This has made it easier to transfer user accounts to these PSP banks. Some users have started receiving “Important UPI Alerts” on their app. In this, they are asked to switch to UPI control of any of these four banks.

You can activate like this.

To switch to the new UPI identifier on the Paytm app, simply click on UPI Update and follow the instructions below.

  1. Step 1: Download the Paytm UPI mobile payment app.
  2. Step 2: Enter your mobile number. For dual SIM phones, select the SIM slot with your mobile number.
  3. Step 3: Verify your mobile number by sending an SMS from your number.
  4. Step 4: Select your bank from the list and make sure it matches the mobile number registered with your bank. You will receive your account details.
  5. Step 5: Set UPI PIN if you are linking your bank for the first time. To do this you will need your debit card details.
  6. Step 6: Your bank account is now linked through UPI and you are ready to make your first payment.
