After the results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the NDA government seems to be formed in the country. Narendra Modi will take oath as the Prime Minister for the third time. Although the BJP did not get a majority on its own in this election, the BJP-led NDA has crossed the majority mark. But the BJP has suffered a major setback in Uttar Pradesh as well as Maharashtra and has suffered a crushing defeat in Maharashtra. The BJP has got only 9 seats in the state while the grand alliance has got a total of 17 seats. In this backdrop, important developments are taking place in the state.

Taking responsibility for the poor performance of BJP in Maharashtra, BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his readiness to resign in a press conference yesterday. This created a stir in the political circles. Fadnavis had requested to release me from the government for the organization.

Today he will go to Delhi and meet Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. But before that this morning Amit Shah himself called Fadnavis and discussed with him. Actually, after listening to what was going on in Fadnavis’ mind, Shah came to know about his feelings. Shah also told Fadnavis that we will discuss this issue in the meeting.

Since Devendra Fadnavis will go to Delhi tomorrow for the parliamentary party meeting, it is likely that he will meet Shah at that time. Everyone’s eyes are on what happens in this meeting, whether the demand to relieve Fadnavis from the post is accepted, what happens next.

BJP suffered a major setback in the elections

In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP has suffered a major setback in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. In 2014 and 2019, more than 40 Mahayuti MPs were elected in Maharashtra. But in this election, this number is only 17. In 2019, BJP had 23 MPs. But in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, only 9 MPs of Maharashtra BJP were elected. This is a very shocking Baba for the party and taking responsibility for this poor performance in the state, Fadnavis was ready to leave the post of Deputy Chief Minister. “The responsibility of the defeat is mine. I accept I accept, I myself missed it. BJP suffered a setback. I accept all the responsibility for the defeat in Maharashtra. Now I will have to go to the assembly full time. I am going to request the senior leaders of BJP to relieve me from the government. So I will get a chance to work for the party full time. I will not lose. Devendra Fadnavis had said yesterday that he will enter the fray with full strength. It will be interesting to see what happens next.
