Bullying of toll employees on Delhi-Dehradun highway, beating of family returning from Ganga bath

Once again a case of hooliganism by toll employees has come to light in Uttar Pradesh. A family from Aligarh, returning from Haridwar after bathing in the Ganges, was beaten up by toll employees over an online payment dispute. The incident took place on the highway toll in Muzaffarnagar district.

Chetan Sharma, a resident of Aligarh, was returning with his family from Haridwar after bathing in the Ganges. When they reached the toll plaza located at Chapar on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. The toll personnel then stopped them. Chetan's car was not fitted with Fastag. He wanted to make payment through UPI. Payments were not going through due to poor network there.

Toll employees attacked

An argument started between the toll employees and Chetan over the payment. Meanwhile, the toll employees started beating Chetan. The toll employees also misbehaved with the family members of the youth who came to save him. The accused beat up the women of the family. The women said that at the time of the incident, they kept pleading for help but no one helped. The police reached the spot and took the injured to the hospital. With the help of CCTV cameras installed at the toll, the police are busy searching for the accused.

The attackers are being identified through CCTV

Chhapar police reached the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital. The police have registered a case based on the complaint of the victim's family and started investigation. Muzaffarnagar SP City Satyanarayan Prajapat said that a case has been registered against half a dozen toll employees based on the complaints of the victims. The police are trying to identify the attackers with the help of cameras installed at the toll booths. SP City says that the accused will be arrested soon.
