The results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 are out and people have voted. The BJP-led NDA has secured more than the 272 seats required for a majority. But the BJP could not secure more than a majority on its own. In 2014 and 2019, the BJP won 282 and 303 seats respectively. But this time the result is different. Against this backdrop, events have gained momentum in Delhi today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called a cabinet meeting this morning and a decision on resignation is likely to be taken in today’s meeting.

This resignation will be given as a formality, after which the President can direct him to take over as the acting Prime Minister till further notice. After this, NDA under the leadership of Narendra Modi can make a formal claim to form the government.

The pace of events in the capital

Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party held talks with the allies yesterday. Sources have informed that Amit Shah held a phone call with all the NDA allies. All parties are ready to form the government under the leadership of Modi. Against this backdrop, the NDA meeting will be held in the capital Delhi today. Nitish Kumar of Janata Dal United in Bihar and Chandrababu Naidu of Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh have also been invited to this meeting. Sources have informed that the post of NDA convenor will be discussed in today’s meeting and the swearing-in ceremony may also be discussed.

A meeting of Bharat Aghadi is also going to be held this evening. Bharat Aghadi meeting will be held today at Mallikarjun Kharge’s house, should we sit in the opposition or should we claim to form the government? This could be a strategy. All the constituent parties have been invited for the meeting this evening. It is reported that the face for the post of Prime Minister will be discussed in the meeting.

When is Modi’s swearing-in ceremony?

There is an atmosphere of happiness in the whole country as soon as the NDA gets the majority. However, unlike the last two terms, this time the country has not given a clear majority to any party. But the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance has won 292 seats, while the Congress-led India Alliance has won 234 seats. But as soon as the NDA crosses the magical figure of 272 required to form the government, they will stake claim to form the government. Meanwhile, important information related to the swearing-in ceremony of the Modi government has come to light. The swearing-in of the Modi government is likely to take place on June 9 (Sunday). In this background, the Rashtrapati Bhavan has taken some important steps. Therefore, the Rashtrapati Bhavan will remain closed for the general public from today till June 9. The Rashtrapati Bhavan will be opened only after the swearing-in ceremony. Sources have informed that Modi will take oath as Prime Minister for the third time on June 9.

Dinner hosted by the President

After the results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 were declared, a dinner has been organized by President Draupadi Murmu today. The closing dinner will be at 8 pm. It is reported that many senior ministers of the Bharatiya Janata Party including Narendra Modi will attend this dinner.
