Aparna Yadav is married to Prateek Yadav, son of Mulayam Singh’s second wife Sadhana Gupta. In 2017, he contested the assembly elections from Lucknow Cantt seat on a Samajwadi Party ticket. She finished second. He was defeated by Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Rita Bahuguna Joshi and secured around 63,000 votes.
