Aparna Yadav is the younger daughter-in-law of Mulayam Singh Yadav. He was a supporter of the party before joining the BJP. He donated 11 lakh rupees for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Aparna Yadav is married to Prateek Yadav, son of Mulayam Singh’s second wife Sadhana Gupta. In 2017, he contested the assembly elections from Lucknow Cantt seat on a Samajwadi Party ticket. She finished second. He was defeated by Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Rita Bahuguna Joshi and secured around 63,000 votes.
