A government medical college and hospital in Kolkata’s Kalyani has suspended 40 students for six months. This decision was taken in the extended college council meeting. According to the information, the College of Medicine and JNM Hospital have taken this action on the charge of threatening other students.

Based on evidence and statements of individual students, the Extended College Council on Thursday decided to expel these 40 students from hostels, hospitals and college campuses.

After this suspension, these 40 students will be allowed to enter the college but will not be allowed to enter hostels and hospitals. They will only be allowed to appear in the examination and face investigation by the Anti-Ragging Committee and the Internal Grievance Committee or any Special Inquiry Committee.
