Prime Minister Narendra Modi took oath as Prime Minister on Sunday. 71 other ministers also took oath along with him. A total of 30 cabinet ministers, five ministers of state with independent charge and 36 ministers of state took oath in Modi’s third term cabinet. Ministers from more than 20 states have been included in the Modi cabinet. The 71 members of the Modi cabinet include about 21 upper caste, 27 OBC, 10 Dalit, 5 tribal and 5 minority caste MPs. Shivraj Singh Chauhan
Shivraj Singh Chauhan has been the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh four times. In 2005, Shivraj Singh Chauhan took oath as Chief Minister for the first time. After this, he became Chief Minister for the second time in 2008. In 2013, Shivraj Singh Chauhan became Chief Minister for the third time. Then on 23 March 2020, he became Chief Minister for the fourth time. But this year, instead of making him Chief Minister, BJP made him an MP candidate to bring him to the Center. Now after becoming an MP, he has been made Agriculture Minister. He will also have Panchayat and Rural Development accounts.
Manohar Lal Khattar
Manohar Lal Khattar, who became a cabinet minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet, has been the Chief Minister of Haryana. He has been the Chief Minister of Haryana from 2014 to 2024. He has been made the Minister of Energy and Urban Development in the Modi cabinet.
HD Kumaraswamy
Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, who joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet, has also been made a cabinet minister. HD Kumaraswamy was the first Chief Minister of Karnataka between 2006 and 2007. After this, he was the Chief Minister of Karnataka from 2018 to 2019. Kumaraswamy has been made the Minister of Heavy Industries.
Sarbananda Sonowal
Sarbananda Sonowal has been the Chief Minister of Assam. He was the Chief Minister from 2016 to 2021. Sonowal was also the President of the All India Assam Students Union (AJSU) from 1992 to 1999. Now he has got a place in the Modi cabinet. He has been given the responsibility of the Port Shipping Ministry.
Jitan Ram Manjhi
Jitan Ram Manjhi has also been included in the cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was also the Chief Minister of Bihar. He became the Chief Minister of Bihar on 20 May 2014. He resigned from the post of Chief Minister on 22 February 2015. Now he has been made the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the Modi government.
