Income Tax Department gave clarifications
The Income Tax Department says that taxpayers should not react to such messages. If the income tax taxpayer accesses the given link after reading this message, he will find his incorrect bank account number there. In reality, through the link the taxpayer is directed to a fake website. When he updates his account there, an OTP is sent to him. As soon as that OTP is entered, the scammers break into the bank account.
What you have to do?
The Income Tax Department does not send any SMS or email to the taxpayer providing the link. Also, this information is provided through a message on the registered email or mobile number. If the department needs any information related to the bank account, it sends a message to the registered email of the income tax taxpayer.
So, if you get any messages on your mobile phone regarding income tax refund, which says to verify the account number or any other information, then be alert for such messages. By answering such questions, your bank account may be emptied.
