Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Kankavali assembly member Nitish Rane is facing criticism not only from the opposition but also within his own party for his inflammatory comments against Muslims. The controversy arose out of Rane’s recent statements in Ahmednagar’s Srirampur and Topkhana areas. State BJP leader Haji Arafat Sheikh has slammed Nitish Rane and challenged him to go to mosques if he really wants to attack Muslims. Sheikh has also called on the party leaders to rein in the outspoken MLA.
In a video shared on social media, Sheikh said that Rane was crossing his limits. “It is not ‘gabbar’, but the ‘chabar’ of the Hindus,” said Seth. He warned Rane against using derogatory language about the Prophet Muhammad and Islam and warned that if Muslims took to the streets in retaliation, Rane “would not even be able to open his mouth.”
