The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has taken a big decision for entrepreneurs. Now the industries established in 154 industrial areas of the state will not have to pay tax separately to both Municipal Corporation and UPSIDA. The industries falling under the industrial zone have to pay maintenance charges to UPCIDA only. This proposal of Bicirculation Industrial Development Department has been approved in the Cabinet on Tuesday. This sanction will save lakhs of rupees every year in the form of annual tax to the municipality by the industries. So far this system is implemented in Noida Authority. Along with this, the Cabinet approved a total of 9 proposals on Tuesday.

UPSIDA will be responsible for maintenance

After the implementation of this decision, UPCIDA will be responsible for maintenance of industrial areas, road construction and providing related services. Till now industrial areas could not be maintained due to separate responsibilities of both Municipal Corporation and UPSIDA. Both sections blamed each other. According to a senior official of the Industries Department, this decision will lead to better development and maintenance of industrial areas.

Entrepreneurs had been raising demands for a long time

Entrepreneurs across the state were demanding the abolition of this double tax system. In this regard, various industrial organizations had also submitted a petition to the officials of the Industries Department.

Cadre review approved, posts to increase in urban institutions

The Cabinet on Tuesday approved the cadre review of central service posts in urban bodies through a circular. After this cadre review, the posts will now be increased as per the current requirement in the urban institutions.

Hitherto the smaller urban bodies i.e. Nagar Panchayats and Municipal Councils had few posts, while the need to deploy more posts was felt as per the requirement of work. In this regard, the department prepared a proposal for cadre review. The proposal was circulated among departmental employees on March 15 and objections were sought from them within a month.

According to the information, the department did not find any major objection in the proposed cadre review. After clearing the objections on Tuesday, the proposal was taken before the Cabinet, which has received approval. Necessary posts will be created according to the population of urban institutions. For example, until now only Executive Officers (EOs) in Nagar Panchayats were providing central service. While now according to the changed system, financial service posts will also be created here.

On the other hand, municipalities are also allowed to create spaces for horticulture and other departments on account of population. At the same time, approval has been given for creation and posting of posts like Environment Officer, Senior Environment Officer, Sanitation Officer etc. along with Sanitation Inspectors.
