A yellow alert has been issued in Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rains. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in 8 districts of the state. It includes Bilaspur, Kangra, Kullu Mandi, Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur and Kinnaur districts. Thunderstorms are also likely to occur during the rains. Meanwhile, weather forecasters said that the weather is expected to remain clear from September 14 to 18. Due to rain, snowfall has occurred in some districts. Earlier on Thursday too, a yellow alert was issued for rain.
Due to rain, snowfall has also started in various districts of the state. There is snowfall on the high peaks of Kinneret. This is the first snowfall of the year that was witnessed in the high hills of Kinnar. The temperature has dropped due to snowfall. As the day and night temperatures drop, the cold has increased.
First snowfall on India-China border
People have started wearing warm clothes due to snowfall in the high hills of Kinnaur district. At the same time, the Nagadum border, adjacent to the India-China international border, looked white due to snowfall. Regarding the rain, the Meteorological Department had informed that till now there has been 20 percent less rain in the monsoon season. Information was also given that the weather will be clear from September 14 to 18.
Yellow alert of rain issued
The Meteorological Department had also issued a yellow alert for rain on Thursday, but only a few places received rain. Rain was reported in various areas. Sirmour and Nahan Dalhousie received more than 3.5 mm of rain. It was informed that the state has received 538.5 mm of rainfall between June 1 and September 12 as against the previous years normal rainfall of 674.2 mm. Dhaulkuan recorded the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours. Drizzle has started again in Shimla.
