BSP supremo Mayawati has attacked the Congress. Yesterday i.e. Saturday, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge attributed reservation to Pandit Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi, on which Mayawati got angry and said that there is no truth in what the Congress president said. Exposing the lie of Congress, the BSP chief said that Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC-ST) got reservation not because of Nehru and Gandhiji but because of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Mayawati tweeted that after the press conference of the BSP yesterday, I came to know about the statement given by the national president of the Congress party. Baba Saheb Dr. credits the reservation he gave to ST-ST. Bhimrao gave it to Pandit Nehru and Gandhiji and not to Ambedkar, but there is not even an iota of truth in this. Mayawati said that in fact the full credit of reservation goes to Baba Saheb.
Congress worked to stop and defeat Baba Saheb
The BSP supremo said that the Congress people hatched a conspiracy to stop Baba Saheb from going to the Constituent Assembly and also worked to defeat him in the elections. He was also forced to resign from the post of Law Minister. Khadge said his party would consult NGOs and lawyers before declaring the party’s stand on sub-classification of SC-ST categories in the country.

This shows that Congress is in favor of SC-ST sub-categorization. Mayawati further said that the Congress has also spoken vaguely about the creamy layer. Even though the Congress has 99 MPs, no voice was raised in Parliament until the session was adjourned to nullify the Supreme Court’s decision, when the party won these seats in the name of preserving the Constitution and reservation.
The government wants to end our reservation
Mayawati has hit out at the government over the Supreme Court’s sub-categories and the SC-ST creamy layer. He said that 40 crore people belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are feeling cheated by the government’s attitude. Mayawati said that the government wants to eliminate the creamy layer within the quota and our reservation in the name of quota. PM Modi is misleading people.
The BSP chief said that the central government has tried many times to abolish reservation. After the decision of the Supreme Court, the state governments can give reservation on their own and after this the reservation of Dalits can end. All the MPs and MLAs of our society have to unite to avoid it.
