Akhilesh Yadav and CM Yogi Adityanath.
Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has been continuously raising questions about the rising crime and violence in the state. Meanwhile, questioning the incident of violence against a woman on Kanpur’s highway, he has demanded an impartial inquiry into the matter from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The former chief minister has shared a post on social media, in which he said that the culprits should be identified and given a punishment that would bring justice to the dead.
Akhilesh Yadav wrote in the post, ‘In yet another heartbreaking case of crime against women in Uttar Pradesh, the decapitated, naked body of a woman has been found on the highway in Kanpur. The evidence which has come to light regarding the brutal violence inflicted on the deceased and the severe physical pain inflicted on her, morality dictates that it should not be mentioned. It is suspected that the deceased was murdered after rape and torture. There should be an impartial investigation in this case.’ Further, he has said that whoever is guilty in this case should be severely punished so that such incident does not happen again.
Akhilesh demanded strict action
Akhilesh Yadav has appealed to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to seriously investigate the matter and take strict action against the culprits. He said that the administration should be more proactive and responsible to check the increasing crimes in the state, so as to ensure the safety of women.
