A sensational incident has come to light in Pipgunj of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. The in-laws allegedly pushed a woman from the fourth floor of the house, causing her death. The father alleged that his in-laws killed his innocent daughter for dowry and dumped the body on the road. In this matter, the police have registered a case of murder against the husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law based on the complaint of the father and started investigation.
Ramchandra Agrahari, father of the deceased, told the police that he was a resident of Shohartgarh in Siddharthnagar. About a year and a half ago I got my daughter Nandini married to Ashok Agrahari’s son Rajan at Pipgunj. I gave as much money and material as was fixed at the time of marriage, but within a few days of my father-in-law’s arrival, the people here started harassing her to bring more dowry. They often spend Rs. 10 lakhs in cash and taxes. I explained many times. Panchayats were also conducted.
The father made allegations
The father said that I had also told my in-laws about my financial constraints and said that I had given more dowry than I could afford at the time of marriage. Now don’t play this game of harassment for dowry, but no effect. My daughter was dying everyday due to torture. However, none of this was happening to these butchers of the in-laws. Suddenly yesterday during the day I got a call that your daughter is unwell and is being taken to the district hospital for treatment.
As soon as I got the information, I immediately left the house and reached Gorakhpur District Hospital but my daughter was not found there. Then when I came to her father-in-law in Pipgunj town, I came to know that my daughter had died. Her in-laws have killed her. Those people are saying that your daughter committed suicide by jumping from the fourth temple of the house, there is not even a drop of blood where she fell. Had she fallen from such a height, there would have been blood for sure. He is beaten and made to lie on the road. All these circumstances clearly point to murder.
