In Kolkata, junior doctors are on strike demanding punishment for the culprit in the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College. The Supreme Court had asked the doctors to end the strike, but there is a deadlock between the agitating junior doctors and Mamata Banerjee’s government. No consensus could be reached between the junior doctors and the government regarding the talks. On Wednesday, the Chief Secretary again sent invitations to junior doctors for talks.

Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary’s letter went to the junior doctors on Wednesday. Junior doctors were already talking about the arrival of 30 people. The Chief Secretary informed through a letter that 12 to 15 people may come to Nabanna on this day. In the context of the movement, this letter is the focus of the protesting doctors. Now the ball is in the court of the agitating doctors. Will agitating junior doctors come to Naban State Secretariat for talks? All eyes are on him.

Junior doctors have been instructed to report to work by 5 pm on Tuesday. But they are still adamant on the agitation till their five point demands are met.

He said that the state government is ready to join the agitation with the agitators. You can come till 6 pm. But a team of 12 to 15 doctors can come. However, 30 junior doctors wanted to go. However, the Chief Secretary is hopeful that the meeting will be fruitful. He believes he can get positive feedback from junior doctors.

The CM will hold a meeting with medical colleges next week

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister is going to hold a meeting with the principals and directors of all medical colleges and hospitals. The meeting was to be held on the 12th. An announcement was issued that the Chief Minister would hold a meeting at Nabanna Auditorium at 12 noon. District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, CP of Commissionerate, MSVP, CMOH have been instructed to attend the meeting. According to sources, this meeting will be held next week instead of September 12. The meeting has been adjourned by issuing a notice again on this day.

The Chief Minister had asked the Health Secretary to hold a meeting in Nabanna on Monday. Later on Tuesday, an announcement was issued by Arogya Bhavan that the Chief Minister will preside over the meeting. On this day, the health department again issued a notification. Informed sources say that the meeting has been postponed in view of the current situation in medical colleges and hospitals.
