Independence Day will be celebrated in the country on 15th August. Grand programs will be organized in this regard in the national capital Delhi. The country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag at the Red Fort. Meanwhile, rains for several days may spoil the Independence celebrations. The Meteorological Department has also announced an alert for this. Apart from this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain for the next two days.
It has been raining in Delhi for the past several days. Clouds are camping in the sky. It is raining every day, sometimes intermittently and sometimes heavily. This period of rain doesn’t seem to stop yet. According to the forecast of the Met department, there is a possibility of light rain at some places and heavy rain at other places in Delhi and its surrounding cities on Independence Day. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued a ‘yellow alert’ for rain in Delhi-NCR.
Rain has created a problem
Many areas of Delhi have been flooded due to rain. People are troubled due to waterlogging in many places. The rains for the past one week have given people a great relief from the heat, but people are troubled by the problems it has created. MCD has deployed special teams to deal with waterlogging and other problems due to rain. Here the problem of traffic jams continues to arise due to waterlogging at various places and underpasses. Most of the problems are seen on Delhi’s busiest traffic routes.
The atmosphere became pleasant, the temperature dropped
On Wednesday morning, the weather was pleasant with drizzle. The atmosphere remained like this till afternoon. Rain continued continuously in Delhi on Tuesday as well. Due to which the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.6 degrees Celsius which was 0.6 degrees below normal. The Meteorological Department has predicted a maximum temperature of 33 degrees and a minimum of 26 degrees on Wednesday.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in Delhi on August 15. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain on Thursday. A light breeze may also blow. Weather in NCR will also be similar. Preparations for the programs to be held on Independence Day have been completed. In such a situation due to rain, grand programs may face difficulty.
