The rainy season has begun. News of floods are coming from different cities across the country. Due to flooding in many areas, train routes have been diverted and trains have been cancelled at some stations. In this situation, thousands of passengers are facing problems, who are waiting for the journey by purchasing train tickets in advance. In such a situation, the big question arises for them whether they will get their refund. Because the train has been cancelled due to flooding. This is what we are going to tell you in today’s story.
You can claim a refund
If your train is missed or cancelled due to crowd or flood, you can claim a refund. Railways have laid down rules regarding this. As per these rules, if the train is missed due to crowd or delayed for more than 3 hours, the ticket can be cancelled and a refund can be obtained. For this, one has to submit TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt). Please note that if the train is cancelled, Railways automatically returns the full amount without taxes. One more thing to note is that if there is a flood in your city and you are unable to reach the station due to that, then you have to inform Railways about it. In such a situation, there is very little hope of getting the full money back.
A passenger named Sanjeev Singh, a resident of Bihar, said that due to floods in his area it became difficult to get out of the train, so he cancelled his ticket ahead of time. Because if he is unable to reach the station, he will have to suffer a loss.
