Today is a very important day for Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal. The Delhi High Court will hear today whether Kejriwal, imprisoned in Tihar Jail in the liquor policy scam, will get relief or remain in jail. CM Kejriwal’s supporters are waiting for the High Court’s decision. The Anti-Corruption Act case related to the CBI will be heard in the High Court. Apart from the bail, Kejriwal has also challenged his arrest in the Delhi High Court.

The special thing is that Kejriwal has directly approached the Delhi High Court instead of applying to the lower court for bail in the case related to the CBI. In the last hearing, the CBI had also raised objections in the matter, but on behalf of CM Kejriwal, it was said that he can approach the High Court directly for bail. The Supreme Court has given this order in many of its cases, after which the court issued notice to the CBI to file its reply and gave today’s time for hearing.

Kejriwal got relief from the Supreme Court

Earlier, Kejriwal has already got relief from the Supreme Court in the ED case. CM Kejriwal challenged his arrest in the Supreme Court calling it illegal. The Supreme Court referred the case to a larger bench to examine the legal questions raised in the matter. After which the court ordered to grant interim bail.

If Kejriwal gets relief from the Delhi High Court in the CBI case, his way out of jail will be cleared. CM Kejriwal is the main accused in the Delhi liquor scam case. It remains to be seen what the court will decide today. The CBI had arrested Kejriwal from Tihar Jail on June 26 in a corruption case related to the alleged excise policy scam.

Kejriwal’s bail was challenged by the ED in the High Court

At the same time, the Delhi High Court on Monday set August 7 as the date for hearing the ED’s plea challenging Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s bail. The petition was filed in the money laundering case related to the now-discontinued liquor policy case. Kejriwal’s counsel told a single bench of Justice Nina Bansal Krishna that the Central Investigation Agency had handed over a copy of its reply to him around 11 pm on Sunday and he needed time to reply.

The lawyer also told the court that the Supreme Court had recently granted interim bail to Kejriwal in the money laundering case on July 12 and sought 15 days to file a reply. The court has given two weeks’ time to Kejriwal and fixed the matter for hearing on August 7. Kejriwal was granted bail by the trial court on June 20. However, the ED moved the Delhi High Court the next day, saying that the trial court’s order was unfair, one-sided and wrong. At the same time, the conclusions were based on irrelevant facts.
