Controversy over mosque in Sanjauli, Shimla
A controversy has arisen over a mosque in Sanjauli, Shimla. After the fight between the youth of two communities, there is a demand to demolish this mosque. Hindu organizations have demanded this. Four days ago, Hindu organizations took out a rally, in which three Congress councilors of the Shimla Municipal Corporation also participated, and protested outside the mosque, demanding the demolition of the construction at the mosque. Shops of people of UP Saharanpur also remained closed in the city.

Anirudh Singh, who was a minister in the Congress government, demanded to demolish the mosque and also to monitor the Muslim community coming from outside and he went so far as to say that Bangladesh, Pakistan or any terrorist would demolish the Rohingya. Come without any hindrance.
Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh said that this is not a case of a religious place. This is a matter of legal and illegal construction. Its construction started in 2010. There used to be a shop here. Several notices were given in this matter but the construction here reached 6750 sq.ft. This land belongs to Himachal Pradesh Government. No one can do such construction on government land.
The question here is how his map got passed. Shimla Municipal Corporation is at fault in this matter. Today this issue has also been raised in the House. Members of various organizations have also met the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister has assured to take action in this regard. Minister Anirudh Singh said that retail rules should also be strictly enforced.

Meanwhile, Shimla city Congress MLA Harish Janarth said the dispute arose out of a mutual feud between the two groups. This fight took place in Malyana area. This issue is being escalated. The police were informed before registering an FIR in this fight. This matter was given the form of Hindu and Muslim community which is totally wrong. Shimla is a peaceful place and don’t disturb its peace. He said that those who are talking about illegal mosque, this mosque is from before 1950.
A case related to the illegal construction here is going on and its hearing is on Saturday. The Waqf Board is fighting the case. This case is ongoing since 2009. How many governments came after this? It is not appropriate to speak on any religious community in this matter. The matter is in the court and it will also give a decision on it. Shops cannot be closed just because someone speaks. The police have been informed about this. The Chief Minister himself has taken notice of this matter. At the same time, Imam Shahjad of the mosque says that the mosque dates back to before 1947 and is a Waqf Board mosque.
