Pankaja Munde has once again faced defeat in Beed. BJP had made Pankaja Munde the candidate by cutting Pritam Munde’s ticket. Brother minister Dhananjay Munde also put in all his efforts. But Bajrang Sonavane of Sharad Pawar’s party NCP gave Pankaja a close defeat. Pankaja Munde got 6 lakh 77 thousand 397 votes, while Bajrang Sonavane of Sharad Pawar’s party NCP got 6 lakh 83 thousand 950 votes. Bajrang Sonavane defeated Pankaja Munde by just 6 thousand 553 votes.

In the last assembly elections, brother Dhananjay Munde had defeated Pankaja Munde. But this time, despite the equation changing, Pankaja could not win anything in the Lok Sabha. Now why did Pankaja Munde lose? Let’s see why.

  • Maratha movement and Jarang factor hit Pankaja Munde.
  • Pankaj’s statement that reservation is not obtained by protesting.
  • Pankaj was shocked by the coming together of Maratha, Muslim and Dalit communities.
  • In the last 5 years, Pankaja did not go among the public much in Beed district.
  • Due to the split in NCP, the sympathy remained with Sharad Pawar’s party NCP.

Pankaja lost by just 6.5 thousand votes. Out of the 6 assembly constituencies of Beed Lok Sabha, the lead in votes was only in Parli.

Bajrang Sonawane got a lead of 39 thousand 096 votes in BJP MLA Laxman Pawar’s Gevrai constituency. Bajrang Sonawane is leading by 935 votes in Prakash Solanki’s Majalgaon constituency, who is an MLA from Sharad Pawar’s party NCP. Bajrang Sonawane won by 62 thousand 312 votes in the seat of Sharad Pawar’s party NCP MLA Sandeep Kshirsagar.

This lead was decisive for Sonawan. Interestingly, these three constituencies are in the neighbourhood of Ghansavangi taluka of Jarange, from where Ajit Pawar is the MLA of the group. Here only Sonawan got a lead of 32 thousand 254 votes. Even in the cage of BJP’s Namita Mundada, Sonawan took a lead of 13 thousand 798 votes. The only lead Pankaja Munde got was in Parli where Dhananjay Munde is a minister and this is a very big lead, Pankaja is leading by 74 thousand 834 votes. But this lead fell short of 6 and a half thousand to make Pankaj win.

Pankaja Munde, who was waiting for political rehabilitation, got a Lok Sabha ticket. But defeat does not seem to be far away. Despite meeting Modi, minister Dhananjay Munde with her and the BJP machinery, Bajrang Sonawane defeated Pankaj.
